Drodzy przyjaciele!


Jest piątek wieczorem (8. sierpnia) i piszę do Was z chaty położonej gdzieś głęboko w lasach Alaski. Jesteśmy około 250 kilometrów na północ od Anchorage. Jako że Anchorage ma długość geograficzną 149,9 stopni na zachód, a Warszawa 21 stopni długości na wschód, oznacza to, że jesteśmy oddaleni od Was prawie o połowę globu ziemskiego. U nas jest godzina 22.30 (i wciąż bardzo jasno na zewnątrz), podczas gdy w Polsce macie już 8.30 rano. 
Niesamowite!

Ale to, co zdumiewa mnie jeszcze bardziej, to fakt, że tutaj, na Alasce, na drugim końcu świata, w głuszy wypełnionej niedźwiedziami, łosiami i  pokrytymi śniegiem górami, znajdują się dwa kościoły, które kochają i wspierają Polskę. Zaprosili nas tutaj z Davidem, abyśmy opowiedzieli im wszystko, co Bóg czyni w Polsce. Zorganizowali specjalną Wakacyjną Szkołę Biblijną, by opowiadać dzieciom o Polsce i zbierać fundusze na polskie 
kościoły. Kiedy rozmawialiśmy z dziećmi, jedna  z dziewczynek zapytała: „Co myślą  Polacy o tym, co Putin robi w sprawie Ukrainy?” Byłam zszokowana, że takie małe dziecko było w stanie zadać tak głębokie pytanie, ale przypomniałam sobie wtedy, że Rosja jest także sąsiadem Alaski. Miejscowi ludzie modlą się za Polskę i to dla nas wielkie błogosławieństwo, że możemy tu z nimi być.

A zatem, drodzy przyjaciele w Polsce, czujcie się zachęceni. Bóg Was kocha i wkłada miłość do Waszego narodu w serca ludzi na całym świecie. W tym tygodniu, oddaleni do Was o 10 stref czasowych, gromadzimy się z wierzącymi na Alasce, by modlić się za Was.

Dear friends,

It is Friday night (August 8) and I am writing to you from a cabin deep in the woods of Alaska. We are about 250 km. north of Anchorage. Since Anchorage is at a longitude of 149.9 West and Warsaw is at a longitude of 21.0 East, this means that we are almost halfway around the world from you in Poland. It is 10:30 at night here (and still very light outside) while in Poland it is already 8:30 tomorrow morning. Amazing!

But what is even more amazing to me is that here in Alaska, on the other side of the world, in a wilderness with bear and moose and snow-capped mountains, there are two churches who love and support Poland. They invited David and me to come to Alaska to tell them all that God is doing in Poland. They had a special Vacation Bible School to tell the children about Poland and to raise money for Polish churches. When we talked with the children one little girl asked, "How do the Polish people feel about what's happening with Putin in Ukraine?" I was shocked that such a young child would ask such a deep question -- but then I remembered that Russia is Alaska's neighbor as well. The people here are praying for Poland and it is a huge blessing for us to be here with them.

So, our dear friends in Poland, be encouraged. God loves you and He is placing a love for the nation of Poland in the hearts of people all over the world. This week, 10 time zones away from you, we are gathering with believers in Alaska to pray for you.
