Drodzy przyjaciele!

*Gdy zaś Jezus narodził się w Betlejemie Judzkim za króla Heroda, oto
mędrcy ze Wschodu przybyli do Jerozolimy i pytali: Gdzie jest ten nowo
narodzony król żydowski? Widzieliśmy bowiem gwiazdę jego na Wschodzie i
przyszliśmy oddać mu pokłon. (...) I wszedłszy do domu, ujrzeli dziecię z
Marią, matką jego, i upadłszy, oddali mu pokłon, potem otworzywszy swoje
skarby, złożyli mu w darze złoto, kadzidło i mirrę. *(Ew. św. Mateusza
2;1-2, 11)

W ten piątek, 6 stycznia, w Polsce obchodzone jest święto – Epifania lub
Trzech Króli. Poprzez uliczne parady oraz inscenizacje odżywa historia o
trzech mędrcach. Módlmy się, aby Polacy dostrzegli coś więcej niż religijne
tradycje związane z tym świętem i zapragnęli przyjść do Jezusa w podobnej
postawie wdzięczności. Niech poszukują Jezusa, prawdziwie pragnąć Go
odnaleźć, przyjdą do Niego i uklękną w pokorze, dając Królowi królów
wszystko, co uważają za cenne.

(Proszę również o modlitwę za mną i Davidem oraz 15-osobową grupą z Taylor
University, gdy będziemy podróżować do Polski w tym tygodniu – 3,4
stycznia).

Dear friends,

*Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the
king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is
He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the
East and have come to worship Him.” ... And when they had come into the
house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and
worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented
gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:1-2, 11)*

This Friday, January 6, is a national holiday in Poland - "Epiphany" or
"Three Kings' Day." Through street parades and reenactments the story of
the wise men comes alive. Let us pray that the people of Poland will see
more than just the religious traditions connected with this holiday and
desire to come to Jesus in a similar attitude of worship. May they search
for Jesus with a desire to truly find Him, come and kneel before Him in
humility, and offer all that they hold dear before the King of kings.
(I also ask that you please pray for Dave and me and a team of 15 from
Taylor University as we travel to Poland this week - we fly out Tues.
night.)
