Drodzy przyjaciele!

Wszystko rozpoczęło się w 1930 roku w Urugwaju. 13 drużyn wzięło udział w
mistrzostwach świata w piłce nożnej i trofeum trafiło do Urugwaju. Od
tamtej pory Puchar Świata przyznawano co 4 lata, z wyjątkiem roku 1942 i
1946, z powodu II wojny światowej. W tym roku zawody po raz pierwszy
odbywają się w Rosji. Jak zwykle, będzie to najbadziej oglądane wydarzenie
sportowe na świecie.

Tutaj w Polsce rozpoczęła się już turniejowa gorączka! Zdjęcia polskiej
drużyny pokrywają ściany budynków, a biało-czerwone kapelusze, szaliki oraz
inne gadżety dla fanów wypełniają sklepy. W 1974 oraz 1982 roku Polska
zakończyła mistrzostwa na 3. miejscu, jednak w 2010 i 2014 roku nie
zakwalifikowała się do turnieju, a więc teraz każdy czuje się
podekscytowany, że Polska ponownie reprezentowana jest na mistrzostwach.
Pierwszy mecz odbędzie się we wtorek, 19. czerwca, z Senegalem. Proszę,
kibicujcie razem z nami!

To niesamowite, że futbol gromadzi 32 drużyny oraz fanów z całego świata.
Od 14. czerwca do 15. lipca polityka odkładana jest na bok i wszystkie oczy
skierowane są na boisko. Jednak to spotkanie narodów jest tylko tymczasowe
i każdy ma nadzieję na zwycięstwo. Jest tylko jeden Zwycięzca, który
poprzez swoją śmierć i zmartwychwstanie, jednoczy ludzi z każdego narodu,
plemienia i języka. W Jezusie, wierzący z każdego narodu są częścią
globalnej rodziny, która przetrwa aż do wieczności.

Módlmy się, aby liczba wierzących w Polsce rosła. Módlmy się, aby liczne
inicjatywy ewangeliczne planowane na to lato, zebrały obfite plony dusz.
Módlmy się, aby Boża rodzina rosła wśród narodów i aby w rezultacie
społeczeństwa ulegały trwałym przemianom.

*Bóg jest Królem nad narodami, *

Dear friends,
It all began in 1930 in Uruguay. Thirteen teams entered the first FIFA
World Cup competition and the trophy went to Uruguay. The World Cup
championship has been awarded every four years since then except in 1942
and 1946 because of WWII. This year the competition is being held for the
first time in Russia. As always, it will be the most widely viewed sporting
event in the world.



Here in Poland, World Cup fever has hit! Pictures of the Polish team
plaster the sides of buildings and red/white hats, scarves, and fan
memorabilia fill the stores. Poland finished in 3rd place in 1974 and 1982,
but hasn’t qualified since 2006  - so everyone is excited that Poland is
again represented at the games. Their first game is Tuesday, June 19 –
Poland vs. Senegal. Please join us in cheering them on!



It is amazing that the game of soccer brings together 32 teams and fans
from around the world. From June 14 to July 15 politics are put aside and
all eyes are on the field. This gathering of nations, though, is only
temporary and each one is hoping to be the victor. There is only one Victor
who, through His death and resurrection, unites all people of every nation,
tribe, and tongue. In Jesus, believers from every nation are part of a
global family that will endure into eternity.



Let us pray for the number of believers in Poland to increase. Let us pray
for the many evangelistic outreaches this summer to reap a harvest of
souls. Let us pray that the family of God will grow among the nations and
that societies will be changed forever as a result.
