Drodzy przyjaciele!



Przez kilkanaście ostatnich dni mieliśmy możliwość przyglądać się
rywalizacji sportowców na Olimpiadzie w Rio. To naprawdę inspirujące, gdy
widzimy, jak wytrwale i z całej siły dążą do zdobycia nagrody. Gratulacje
dla Polski za zdobycie 11 medali olimpijskich.



Choć to niezwykłe uczucie widzieć, jak Usain Bolt wbiega na linię mety,
Michael Phelps mknie przez wodę czy Anita Włodarczyk rzuca młotem, to
jednak o tym, co ważne, przypominają nam takie chwile jak ta, która
zdarzyła się między Amerykanką Abbey D’Agostina i Nowozelandką Nikki
Hambin. W czasie biegu na 5000m obydwie sportsmenki potknęły się i upadły
na bieżnię. Zamiast biec dalej Abbey pomogła Nikki się podnieść i zachęciła
ją, by biegła dalej. Kiedy Abbey upadła ponownie, Nikki odwdzięczyła się
jej tym samym. Obydwóm kobietom udało się ukończyć wyścig.



Jako naśladowcy Jezusa my również biegniemy. To bardzo ważne, aby nasz
wzrok skupiony był na mecie, bez rozpraszania uwagi na lewo bądź prawo.
Bardzo potrzebujemy siebie nawzajem, by móc kontynuować bieg. Kiedy
widzimy, że inny uczestnik biegu upadł, zatrzymajmy się z sercem pełnym
współczucia i okażmy mu pomoc. Kontynuujmy bieg razem, by zdobyć nagrodę.



*Przeto i my, mając około siebie tak wielki obłok świadków, złożywszy z
siebie wszelki ciężar i grzech, który nas usidla, biegnijmy wytrwale w
wyścigu, który jest przed nami.* (Hebr. 12;1)



*Zmierzam do celu, do nagrody w górze, do której zostałem powołany przez
Boga w Chrystusie Jezusie. *(Filipian 3;14)

Dear friends,

During the past several days many of us have had the opportunity to watch
the Olympic athletes compete in Rio. It is truly inspiring to see them
persevere with all their strength in order to win the prize.
Congratulations to Poland for winning 11 Olympic medals.

Although it is astonishing to watch as Usain Bolt flies across the finish
line, or Michael Phelps powers through the water, or Anita Włodarczyk hurls
the hammer -- it is moments like that between USA's Abbey D'Agostina and
New Zealand's Nikki Hamblin that remind us what is important. During the
5,000-meter race both runners tripped and fell onto the track. Instead of
running on, Abbey helped Nikki get up and encouraged her to keep running.
When Abbey fell again, Nikki returned the favor. Both women managed to
finish the race.

As followers of Jesus, we, too, are in a race. It is critical that we keep
our eyes fixed on the finish line, not distracted to the right or left. We
so desperately need each other to keep going. When we see a fellow racer
fall, let us pause with hearts full of compassion and help him up. Together
let us press on to win the prize.


*Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily
ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
... (Hebrews 12:1)*

*I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me
heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)*
