Drodzy przyjaciele!

W tym tygodniu (25-31 lipca) w Polsce odbywają się Światowe Dni Młodzieży –
duże, międzynarodowe, katolickie wydarzenie, które skupia się na wierze i
młodzieży. Będzie ono miało miejsce w Krakowie i oczekuje się, że
przyjedzie tam 3 miliony osób, w tym papież Franciszek, którego przyjazd
zaplanowano na 27 lipca. W czwartek wieczorem byliśmy z Davidem w centrum
Warszawy na Placu Piłsudskiego na rozpoczęciu koncertu „Wiara. Nadzieja.
Miłość”. To całkiem wzruszające oglądać duże grupy młodych osób dumnie
pokazujących flagi swoich krajów (Peru, Filipiny, Ekwador, Paragwaj, Chiny,
Kanada, USA, Wybrzeże Kości Słoniowej, Bułgaria, Gwatemala, Jordania,
Białoruś, Ukraina, Brazylia, Argentyna i inne). W miejskich autobusach
słyszeliśmy małe grupy młodzieży śpiewające piosenki uwielbiające Jezusa.

Niezależnie od naszych poglądów na temat Kościoła katolickiego, to dla nas
wielka okazja, by modlić się za tych młodych ludzi. Módlmy się, aby imię
Jezusa było uwielbione w tym tygodniu na każdym ze spotkań. Módlmy się, aby
ludzie widzieli Jezusa takim, jaki naprawdę jest. Módlmy się, aby młodzież
została poruszona, by poświęcić się dla Jezusa i prowadzić pobożne życie,
które przyniesie Mu cześć. Módlmy się, aby ci młodzi zostali użyci przez
Boga w celu zbawienia i przebudzenia ludzi w ich krajach. Niech Jezus
będzie w centrum i przyjmie całą chwałę w Krakowie w tym tygodniu.

This week is World Youth Day (July 25-31) in Poland -- a massive
international Catholic event that focuses on faith and youth. It will be
held in Kraków and they are expecting nearly 3 million people to descend
upon the city, including Pope Francis who will arrive on July 27. David and
I were downtown Warsaw on Thursday evening at the beginning of the
"Faith.Hope.Love" concert in Piłsudskiego Square. This concert was
dedicated to the 1,000's of young pilgrims who had already arrived in
Poland for World Youth Day. It was quite stirring to see large groups of
youth proudly bearing the flags of their nations (Peru, Philippines,
Ecuador, Paraguay, China, Canada, USA, Ivory Coast, Bulgaria, Guatemala,
Jordan, Belarus, Ukraine, Brazil, Argentina, and more). On the city buses
we heard small groups of the youth singing worship songs to Jesus.

Regardless what our views are regarding the Catholic Church, this is a huge
opportunity for us to pray for these youth. Let us pray that the name of
Jesus will be exalted throughout the week at each of the gatherings. Let us
pray that Jesus will be seen for who He truly is. Let us pray that these
young people will be stirred to devote themselves to Jesus and to live
godly lives that bring honor to Him. Let us pray that these youth will be
used by God to bring salvation and revival to the people of their nations.
May Jesus be at the center and receive all the praise this week in Kraków.
